Fox-Guidry Mortgage > JoyfulLivingToday > Complete Dependence = Freedom

Complete dependence = Freedom. Sounds like an oxymoron, doesn’t it? Yeah, I know. It doesn’t have to be, as long as you are dependent upon God.
Close your eyes (after you read this, of course!) and imagine yourself as a child…maybe 4-5 years old. You are holding your mom or dad’s hand and you look up at them and you just knew that your parents would feed you, clothe you, lead you safely, take care of you, be there for you, and comfort you when you were scared, sick or hurt. No matter what, you felt safe because you just knew that everything was going to be all right.
They had your back. You were completely dependent upon them and you were free. You didn’t have to worry about a thing other than what toy to play with next.
Or maybe you weren’t as lucky to have this type of feeling growing up. I am here to tell you though, that you CAN have a relationship like that – with God. Right now. As a matter of fact, that is what He wants us to be like. He wants us to have childlike dependence upon Him so that we can be free too.
God is our parent and we are His children.
Every
Single
One of us.
He wants us to trust Him in every aspect. Yes, that is right…ALL of them, not some. I know, it is difficult to do. I am guilty of trying to control things instead of trusting. We all are.
When we sit back and just chill and trust that He knows better than we do, life IS profoundly better. It all works out in the end exactly as it is supposed to, yet we still continue to worry about things that are beyond our comprehension or control. We need to cut it out!
It is through dependence on God – knowing that no matter what, everything’s going to be OK – that we are truly free.
No more chains,
No more shame,
No more worry,
No more blame.
No more grief,
No more strife,
No more pain.
God will wipe away every tear from your eyes.
Look up and run towards Him, don’t turn away. Hold His hand and walk beside your Mighty Father.
Freedom.
