Who am I anyway and why should you read my blog? I have so much to say and it will be about interesting things, I do promise that! Some personal, some actually mortgage and real estate industry related. I have a good story to tell…

Let’s start with me…

I am Jennifer Guidry and I am a mortgage loan officer in San Antonio, Texas. I moved here in November 2005 from Dallas, TX (which is a whole other blog post on that part). Originally from Buffalo, New York though. It was a good place to be from.

I started from scratch when I moved here. I didn’t know a soul except for my family. I was in upper (well, maybe middle upper if that is such a thing) management when I lived in Dallas and when I moved to SA, I decided that I was going to take a “step down” (which is funny for me to say BTW) to  only originate home loans (basically means to be a loan officer). Everyone told me that this market was very tough to break into because it was very clicky. I didn’t care though, because once you get to know me better, you will realize that I am NOT afraid to fail. When someone tells me it is not possible, I will prove you wrong. That story though, is for another day…

Fast forward almost 14 years. I have worked my ASS off. Stepping “down” was the best thing that I have ever done. Ever. I am now the top loan officer in San Antonio and have been for quite a while as an actual individual producer. I compete against teams of 15-20 people, and now we (myself and 2 assistants in the past) are beating them. It brings a smile to my face. I both love and hate to admit that.

I have been recognized as one of the Top 50 Women Originators in the USA and one of the Top 200 Loan Officers in the country. I have become a regular on the morning shows here in San Antonio (Daytime at 9 and the San Antonio Living Show). I have been in the San Antonio Magazine 3 times now this year. First for “Top Mortgage Professionals”, next for “Women to Watch” and most recently, I was named the “Face of Home Loans”. It really is an amazing honor. I will attach the article on this post.

I am single. VERY single. Dating in San Antonio is difficult for me. I have about 50 blog posts about this I can write about (which I will do on a different day)  …about my adventures in dating and all of the quirky funny things about online dating and different patterns I have discovered over the years.

I am a Christian. I post quite a bit about this on Facebook etc. It is super important to me and I wholeheartedly believe that God is who gives us the abilities in our lives and we can choose to glorify Him with what we do or we can choose to live a life less fulfilling. Again, on this part…another blog story.

I love and absolutely live to travel. I love having something to look forward to and I am constantly planning my next adventure.

Other than that, I am just ME!! I have always been a little different than everyone else and I am good with that. I have always been. I don’t much care what everything thinks of how I act or what I do. I am just MYSELF. Plain and simple. So there you go.

My plan here is to write about my story…about life…love…God…and some mortgage stuff too.

Cheers!

Jen
