I believe that those who understand their own mortality are the ones who truly live. When you fully grasp the fact that one day you will die, you begin to live your life differently. It’s true. Just ask someone who has had a brush with death. You probably won’t even have to ask. You can probably already see it. They are different.
The realization and acknowledgment that life is temporary and precious will exponentially grow your satisfaction of the present moment. You will see things in differently. You will feel differently. Stuff that matters to a person who doesn’t have the insight won’t matter to you. Life is too short. The things that DO matter to you are the things actually worth caring about. Love. Time. Contentment and acceptance with whatever comes your way.
No more grudges. No more long term aggravation or anger. Shit just won’t bother you like it once did. It is just not worth it.
When you wake up tomorrow, be grateful for another day you have been given. Contemplate the impermanence of our life here on earth. Stop wasting your highly-valued time and start living.
