Yesterday, my heart was pounding and sweat was dripping down my face while making the rest of me glisten. My hair was soaking wet. It had been a while since I have been able to feel this way. It was invigorating.
Oh that feeling I get when my workouts are challenging. I both love and hate it at the same time while I am doing it…but when I am done…oh man, I am always thankful that I worked out. I take pride in the fact that I accomplished the feat that was in front of me. I did not give up. I pushed through the limitations that I thought I had. Turns out, I can do so much more than I think most times. It is the same for all of us. We all can.
Our minds are the main culprits for negativity when we are challenged to do hard things. It tells us, “You aren’t strong enough to do this” while our bodies secretly know the we can take more. I just can’t let my lazy mind win. My soul needs to take charge and show this body who’s the boss. It ain’t Tony Danza. (yeah, I know…dumb joke)
Working out…it is a privilege. So is getting stronger. THAT is the mindset that I have.
I fell in love with how fitness makes me feel many years ago and the relationship continues to thrive. It is a way of life. My fitness has saved my life and it continues to propel me forward every day. It keeps my stress levels at bay and brings me peace. There has never been a workout that I have regretted. Ever.
Thank God today for giving us the ability to do those things that our minds tell us are “too hard.” 99.999% of the time, they are not. You just have to believe…and execute.
Thank you so much for reading today. I hope that I made you smile and think a little bit. Be sure to check out my Podcast on iTunes, Soundcloud and Stitcher —- Jen’s 10 G’s
