Now that I am in my mid 40’s, my body is really starting to change.
Last night I went to bed with no gray hair in my eyebrows. I mean zero.
This morning, when I awoke and looked in the mirror, there was a freakin’ one inch gray thick hair that literally was growing sideways out of my brow. How in the heck does this happen?
How do gray hairs have the ability to grow at light speed and then pop up in the most unlikely (and unsightly) places? I mean, it takes me about a year for my “regular” hair just to grow a few inches, but those gray hairs, oh those have super abilities. Jerks.
Don’t even get me started about growing all sorts of hair in places where hair has never been. It is a mystery to me just how that is happening too! One day nothing is there and the next day, BAM there is a forest in a place where it just should not be! You stupid hormones! LOL
Don’t even get me started on wrinkles. One day none, next day I look in the mirror and marvel while wondering, “When did those get there?”
This getting older stuff…it is definitely not for the weak! It makes me laugh most days, but on others, I am like, WTF. I guess even those days are funny too. You just have to laugh sometimes…its better than crying about it, right?
The best thing that we can do for ourselves as we get older is to eat right, keep moving and have a good balance in our lives when it comes to stress, spirituality, play time and work. Those actions will help keep us younger for longer. We also have to all accept the inevitable truth that we will all get old one day. There’s nothing that we can do to stop it.
Michael always tells me that I just have to “accept it.” I chuckle and tell him that I will…with tweezers and botox in hand.
