Fox-Guidry Mortgage > JoyfulLivingToday > To the One Who Betrayed Us
I don’t know who you are (yet), but you betrayed us. I think that is the worst part…when you discern that the one who hurt you is someone you know, but you can’t figure out who exactly it was. Someone who knows enough about us to know our home and where we keep things. Someone who wanted what we had…so they took it.
You should have just asked. If you were hurting that bad, we would have helped you…the right way.
Instead you took it upon yourself to just take. Take the things we worked so hard for. Nothing was given to us. What makes your situation different?
Nonetheless, you didn’t care enough about any of that. You wanted what you didn’t have, so you did whatever it took to get it and didn’t care about who you hurt. You violated our home and you made us feel unsafe in a place that is sacred to us.
Today, I release my resentment to you. I forgive you. I just prayed for you, actually.
At the end of the day, I still have a smile on my face. My mental health is way more important than “stuff.” My relationship with God is stronger than the ill feelings I have had for you.
I’ve given that burden to God. He gave me peace.
I hope that He changes your heart and that you ask Him for forgiveness.
Until then…

Love Your Enemies

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?  And if you greet only your brothers,[a] what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
